For example, we appreciate the fact Highland Park was originally conceived of as a parkland area by Henry Exall, an agent from Philadelphia, and represented the group of investors who purchased the land in 1889.
At the time, the housing area was meant to become Philadelphia Place, but development came to a halt in 1893 due to financial difficulties. In 1906, however, development continued with new investors and a new name - Highland Park.
