You lose out of the natural variety you would ordinarily get with natural stone and the end result looks too uniform.

Hand-crafted overlay pieces, on the other hand, don’t suffer the same fate. Each stone is wholly unique – especially when made with a proprietary blend that can’t be replicated by anyone else.

This also gives you greater freedom in your choice of design, as even the most irregular of patterns can be created.

Quite literally the only advantage templates afford you is the absolute surety that every piece will fit together perfectly.

But once again, by relying on an expert team who puts every ounce of attention to detail into hand-crafting each individual stone overlay piece, that doesn’t have to be a problem no matter your chosen pattern.

Mantle Woes Begone

Another awesome advantage in using stone overlays to remodel your fireplace is the fact you won’t have to take out (and then reinstall) your mantel.

Instead, all that happens is your installation team works around the existing mantel. It takes away all the mess and the fuss without disturbing your home.

Of course, if you don’t already have a mantel but you do want one, it can easily be installed at the same time. However, this will take longer than installing your stone overlays and will almost definitely create some mess.
